Less than 10% of French people say they are deeply involved in their work, according to a study conducted by Le Point magazine in 2017. 51% of employees find their workload excessive and 36% have already experienced burn-out, according to the national survey launched by the CFDT*.

Despite such percentages, the study also shows that two out of three employees like their job. Figures that are puzzling… In a context where the retirement age continues to be pushed back, how can you stimulate your employees while increasing your turnover? We give you some keys to revive your employees’ love of work!

1. Listening

Between work overload, lack of autonomy or the feeling of discontent, some employees report a lack of consideration on the part of their hierarchy. It is therefore important to stay tuned to better understand everyone’s needs. Why not propose a flexible work schedule to an employee with outside obligations to show your involvement and thus encourage theirs?

2. Sociability

4. Break

In June 2018, Forbes magazine published a study showing that “brief, regular breaks encourage concentration.”** The brain needs to take breaks and there is evidence that working without stopping degrades performance.

Offer your employees the right to take real breaks so they can disengage for a few moments before returning to their jobs rejuvenated and more productive 😉

5. Values

Whatever values ​​your company claims (respect and trust, transparency, know-how, etc.), it is essential that your employees share them as well. Identifying with your values ​​reinforces the feeling of belonging and gives your employees the desire to invest and participate in your company’s growth.

To convey your values ​​to your employees, don’t hesitate to set an example! If you advocate communication, it is important to take the time to talk with your employees, keep them informed of current projects and especially take into account their ideas and feedback. Also remember to plan seminars or kick-off meetings outside your premises with activities that will easily convey the values ​​you advocate!
